
Sago di Pomodoro (Authentic Italian Tomato Sauce)
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil extra-virgin
- 1 onion chopped
- 4 cloves garlic halved
- 2 (14 ounces) cans passata (crushed tomatoes)
- 1/4 cup fresh basil torn in half
- salt to taste
Notes
Sago di Pomodoro: Heat oil carefully in a pot over low heat. Include onion and garlic. Cook and mix until delicate and translucent, around 5 minutes include passata, basil, and salt. Spread and stew over medium heat, infrequently mixing, until the tomato sauce has thickened, approximately 20 minutes. Evacuate garlic parts before serving.
